Going out with an Accountant? 5 gift ideas for this Valentine’s Day.

StudyOnline.ie Tea Cup

Accountants are known to be good-natured, patient and organized. They deal with procurement of data and analysing financial records to ensure accurate business operations. Overall their job, although important may be tedious at times and leave them looking for something spontaneous outside of work. So if you both are ready for something different than same old dinner plans show your other half you really care this Valentine’s Day and surprise him/ her with something special this year. Here are some tips:

Tea Anyone?

Life of accountants may involve moments of stressful long office hours, especially during audits or End- of-Year tax return seasons. Word of support and encouragement will mean a lot to them. If you are going out with a tea drinking accountant you can show him/her you care by adding a little note to their tea…

You can buy their favourite pack of tea and replace the usual tea labels with ones made by you. You can write some inspirational quotes on them or simply draw a heart shape or a smiley face. It will remind them someone is thinking about them and will keep them motivated.

Help them reach for the sky!

If you don’t have much money to spend but you both enjoy a gift with a twist why not give them a… balloon! You can buy a balloon filled with helium (heart shaped one would work especially well for this Valentine’s season) and pack it in a box. When your partner will open the box the balloon will graciously fly out. You could also add a note saying i.e.: “To help you reach the sky” This gift is especially suitable for someone currently studying, starting a new job or trying for a promotion at work.

Coffee Connoisseur:

A customised cup is a great gift you can modify and alter in so many ways. Print their favourite movie quote, your photograph together or simply draw something on it with an oil based paint marker. The ideas are endless! What’s even better than a cup? A cup of good coffee. Equip the cup with their favourite coffee and you are now in a possession of a perfect gift they can bring to work and use every day.

Money, Money, Money:

Accountants spend their day dealing with money- not necessarily theirs though! Why not let them have fun with it and present them with chocolate coins? Chocolate in a shape of little euro coins will provide them with well needed sugar rush during those long days at the office. Why not put it into a big jar they could put on their desk.

You could also put a spin on a good old practical present by offering them a new purse or a wallet with few chocolate coins inside to sweeten up the gift (make sure you will keep it in a cool temperature so the chocolate wouldn’t melt!).

Quality over Quantity:

Having an accountant as a partner can be compared to an investment plan. Especially since many of them would also deal with quality assurance. It will be rewarding in the long run! If you have money to spend why not treat your partner to a good quality bottle of his/her favourite alcohol, perfume or make up? If your partner is known to go for quality rather than quantity this one single gift may be much appreciated. Just wait until they will return the favour!
